Questions

Is PSA or SGC stricter on centering?

Their Gem Mint front lines are the same figure: PSA GEM-MT 10 ~55/45, SGC 10 Gem 55/45. PSA publishes a Gem Mint back figure (75/25); SGC publishes none. Below Gem Mint, the figures differ at grades 9, 8.5, 8 and 7; the table shows every line.

Is PSA or SGC cheaper?

It depends on the card’s value. For cards worth up to $20,000, SGC: SGC from Standard (≤$1,500) $50 to Expedited (≤$20,000) $500 against PSA from Standard $59.99 to Premium 1 $999. For cards worth $20,000.01 to $25,000, PSA: PSA Premium 1 $999 against SGC Expedited (≤$50,000) $1,000. Above $25,000, the cheaper side changes again with the card’s value; each company’s tier table on this page gives every band. Fees per card as read: PSA 2026-11-02, SGC 2026-09-17. Shipping is extra.

Which is faster, PSA or SGC?

On the cheapest open tiers: PSA Standard 70–80 business days, SGC Standard (≤$1,500) 40+ business days, by each company’s own estimate. Both sell faster tiers for more: PSA down to 5–7 business days on Premium 1 and dearer tiers, from $999; SGC down to 2–3 business days on Expedited (≤$3,500) and dearer tiers, from $150.

Which should I send my card to, PSA or SGC?

It depends on the card: its centering decides which grade lines it can meet at each, and what each company’s grades sell for decides whether the fee pays. The ratio table above answers the first part; SlabbyPrep measures your card and works out the second from the prices you enter.
