Centering ceiling by service for a card whose worst axis measures 70/30 (front; back not considered here). The ceiling is the highest grade whose published centering line the card meets. Corners, edges and surface can hold or lower it, and PSA gives a 5% front leeway for cards that grade PSA 7 or better, so up to 5 points beyond its line may still pass on strong eye appeal. How to measure the ratio.

|---|---|---|
| PSA | NM 7 | line: ~70/30 front |
| Beckett (BGS) | EX-MT 6 | line: 70/30 front |
| CGC Cards | Near Mint 7 | line: 70/30 front |
| SGC | 7.5 NM+ | line: 70/30 front |
| TAG | NM 7 | line: ~70/30 front |
| ACE | NM 7 | line: under 75/25 front |
“~” is the company’s own “approximately”; “under” marks ACE’s lines, which exclude the boundary (“less than” or “greater than” a split), so a card exactly on the figure does not meet them.
Not on PSA’s published lines: 70/30 is outside PSA’s ~55/45 front line for GEM-MT 10, and the highest PSA line it meets is NM 7 (~70/30). It is within 5 points of the NM-MT 8 line (~65/35). PSA adds: "A 5% leeway is given to the front centering minimum standards for cards which grade PSA 7 or better." A card inside the published figure meets it; up to 5 points beyond may still pass on strong eye appeal.
SGC (7.5 NM+) on published lines alone. Market value per grade differs by service, which is what the Advisor accounts for.
